Will keep an eye out and look for an update if you keep working on this. I like the variety of enemies and shot/movement patterns you have, they have helped spark some new ideas on my side. It felt way better for my game, might be worth experimenting with on your side! I had my movement working similar to yours at first, with A/D to rotate, 'tank' style controls, but I switched it to more 'twin stick' style with WASD/left stick controlling movement direction directly, and another button for thrust. If you don't mind me asking, about how long did this take you? Still prototyping it, it also started as space themed but I am thinking about changing that part. I am actually working on a similar game concept right now, a top down shooter. Maybe also start the player with one of the 'find X planet' quests, to give some direction at first? It may need to be a bit bigger/more noticeable, or maybe make it pop up on first launch no matter what.
